Once upon a picnic with artist Carola Bravo

One sunny afternoon, we gathered under the majestic trees at Collins Park for a mind-mapping workshop with artist Carola Bravo. Commissioned for The Bass Museum of Art’s New Monuments program, Carola wanted to know: What would we want our new monument to reflect?

Replete with complimentary pumpkin mule cocktails courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, New Belgium Brewing, and Liquid Death water, new members connected with alumni for our annual orientation program. Together we explored the obstacles and opportunities of public art, and how to make the most of the Season Six experience.

Our hosts at The Bass Museum extended museum hours to welcome guests to Kerry Philips: Between the Mundane and the Miraculous, and Nam June Paik: The Miami Years, currently on view. Additionally, textile creatives Fouta Harissa provided bespoke handwoven picnic blankets from Tunisia—a sneak peek into the collection to come.
