Beatriz Monteavaro is the first commissioned artist of Season Six and is already stretching us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. An artist and musician based in Miami, her work exists within the realms of monsters, movies, action figures, science fiction, fantasy, theme parks, and underground scenes. Beatriz's recent work is a meditation on marine life and long walks on the beach, rendered through her unique and otherworldly lens. She has exhibited widely around the country, and most recently, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami (MOCA) as a two-time recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium award.
