Great Art at Great Miami Galleries
We're often asked what shows to see or which galleries to follow. While there are many places to experience great art in this city, we find it in the programs that bring a fresh perspective.
For galleries to keep on your radar, we turned to a few artists from Commissioner Season One and Two.
First, A Note About Our Partners
Before we dive in, we have to acknowledge that curatorial partner Primary is one of Miami’s genuine bridge-builders. Currently on view is an exhibition by Miami native Evan Robarts. Check it out!
Primary Projects
7410 NW Miami Court, Miami
We would be remiss not to also mention Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator. (Shameless plug and full disclosure, did we mention we have great partners?) Their mission is to promote, nurture, and cultivate the vision and diverse talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean and Latin Diaspora through exhibition programs, artist residencies and outreach throughout the world. Currently, DVCAI has an exhibition on view in Washington D.C. Inter | Sectionality: Diaspora Art from the Creole City is a collection of works from Miami-affiliated artists that explores the emergence of Miami as the “Creole City” and diaspora art as a local, regional and global phenomenon. Visit Rosie at the gallery in Little River.

A Humble Resource
If you haven’t yet participated in Progressive Art Brunch, we recommend you put it on the calendar. Created as a way to enjoy light brunch fare and experience contemporary art in a curated setting, PAB event highlights the current programming at each venue and enables visitors a more intimate look at the exhibitions on view. Spread throughout the Performing Arts, Little Haiti and Little River Arts Districts, the 12 participating galleries are all stellar in their own right and present a different point of view.
If you don’t have plans for Sunday, make space this weekend. The Progressive Art Brunch happens on February 16.
