Thank You for a Magical Season Six
We’re honored to capstone a magical Season Six with Loni Johnson, our fourth and final commissioned artist of the season. In a tender performance on June 1 at Locust Projects in Little Haiti, Loni invited our beautiful guests to bear witness as she presented unique pod sculptures from her Visceral Series.
Big love to our members and alums for their ongoing support and to everyone who shared this special milestone with us. Special thanks to HeavyWeights BBQ, DJ GeeMoney, Liquid Death, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, New Belgium Brewery and the incredible team at Locust Projects. This work would not be possible without our dedicated Commissioner team, ever-growing with generosity and care.
Relive the moment in photos starting with Loni’s reveal, and keep scrolling for images of our recent collaboration with University of Miami’s Center for Global Black Studies, which also featured a performance by the artist on Virginia Key Beach for Theorizing Black Miami: Histories, Movements and Ethics of Care, on the 70th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education.
