When Artists Lead

Commissioned artist Michelle Lisa Polissaint’s series, comes manje, represents a bold new chapter in her creative process. An exploration of the many cultural overlaps in Miami, she designed fabrics inspired by staple foods shared across the diaspora. Comes manje is part of Michelle’s broader investigation of memory, relationships, and ethnicity. It’s a shining example of the artist leading the way to create new language that highlights cultural identity and the collective experiences that bring us together.
