Loni Johnson’s Love Letter to Miami

BOOMBOOMBOOM!! On December 5, artist Loni Johnson staged an intervention at Untitled Art, Miami Beach.

What began as a guided tour of the annual fair with frequent collaborator Chire Regans, transitioned to a call to action for participants to get in formation. As Loni beckoned audiences forward, the path cleared for a durational offering on the ‘front porch’ and under the stars.

BOOMBOOMBOOM!! is Loni’s love letter to Miami. Centering Blackness, memory, and healing, our community showed up and out. At once a reclamation and revival, Loni conjured the spirit of past, present, and possible. A oneness.
