Join us for an evening of gratitude and celebration with Pepe Mar, the final commissioned artist of Commissioner Season Three.

Pepe’s work layers story, identity and texture in a way that feels both viscerally familiar and completely original. He excavates the ritual narratives of secondhand stores, science fiction, celebrity, commercial design, and social media to create abstract and anthropomorphic barometers of contemporary culture. In this rich experiential process, Pepe’s approach recalls the history of assemblage and painting—for him, this practice is a personal and universal exploration of cultural alienation.

This very special season finale will take place at Pepe’s residence in Miami Shores. Collectors, Patrons, Alumni and friends are invited to join the private event in his and partner David Castillo’s expansive backyard, where the artist will reveal his commissioned artwork for the program. Cocktails are courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, paired perfectly with tacos, quesadillas and music by DJ Adora.

Collectors: If you’re unable to attend, but would like to pick-up your artwork, please email hello@commissioner.us. Artworks not picked-up at the event will be couriered for a fee of $35 by July 1, and before the Commissioner team goes on summer holiday to rest, replenish and imagine an all-new Season Four (launching in September).
