It was a Dream it is a Flood, solo exhibition by Wade Tullier
7410 NW Miami Court, Miami
RSVP at rsvp@thisisprimary.com
Join us for an early view of Wade Tullier’s sculptural works at partner gallery Primary. "I make sculptures that depict animals, figures, phenomena, and everyday objects. They are always recognizable, but become elusive as I continue to reinterpret each piece. In this way, my sculptures act as characters in oral history: they transform as they are retold. While these objects remain familiar and are easily identifiable, the combinations of works remain ambiguous. They echo the layered, nonlinear structure of memory as it is excavated through storytelling."
Primary art week hours November 30–December 3, daily 11 AM–5 PM. On view through January 14, 2023
6:30–8:30 PM | VIP Preview

with Chris Friday, Loni Johnson and Chire “VantaBlack” Regans
New World Gallery & Gardens
25 NE Second St., Downtown Miami
No RSVP required
Friday, Loni Johnson, and VantaBlack invite you to come home: a place of comfort, of safety, of raw intimacy, where one can be right or wrong and called out but never put out. Together these three artists use their distinct multidisciplinary practices to erect and consecrate a space that centers liberation from the deep social practice of self-containment and self-negation. A house is nothing but walls; a home is an intimate space that frees us from the labor of adaptation, while also utilizing arrangement to guide interaction. The arrangement acts as a mirror, reflecting our placement and relationship with the world. Their collective work of material practice produces a place of reconciliation as we navigate through identity and memory. Curated by Pamela “Zee” Lopez Del Carmen.
